In a 2021 study of 15,136 food samples in Europe, glyphosate residue was found in 1.38 percent of samples at levels described as being above the limit of quantification (LOQ) but below the maximum residue limit (MRL). Within 0.15 percent of the samples tested, the glyphosate residue levels exceeded the MRL. The source indicates that this was mainly observed in common millet, buckwheat, and other pseudo-cereals.
Glyphosate is approved for use in the European Union until December 15, 2023.
