The SSAB Luleå steel plant emitted 3.14 million metric tons of carbon dioxide (MtCO₂) in 2022, making it the biggest carbon polluter in Sweden. The Oxelösund steel plant, also operated by SSAB, was Sweden's second-largest emitter in 2022.
