Agriculture accounted for almosot 19 percent of greenhouse gas emissions in Scotland in 2022, making it the most polluting sector in the country. The Buildings and product uses sector was the second-largest contributor that year with shares of 18.5 percent. Electricity supply was once the largest source of GHG emissions in Scotland, but emissions from this sector have fallen considerably in recent years and now account for just 4.19 percent.
