March 2023
United States
2021
These figures are based on a meta-analysis of four different surveys of family caregivers conducted from 2015 to 2019 among caregivers and recipients aged 18 or older who provided care at the time of the survey or within the past month; and assisted with ADLs (such as bathing and dressing), IADLs (such as managing finances or providing transportation), or medical/ nursing tasks (such as medication management or preparing special diets).
Economic value refers here to the number of care hours provided by family caregivers multiplied by the value per hour.
Figures are estimates.
Additional information about the methodology can be found in pages 4 and 5 of the report.
