A survey from March 2023 found that over 60 percent of U.S. media professionals were very or somewhat confident that the Writers Guild of America and TV and film studios would reach a deal in the event of a strike. Only one percent were not confident at all that the writers of WGA members and studios, such as Disney and Netflix, would reach a payment agreement in the event of the strike that started on May 2.
