Emissions reduction pathway in Canada 2005-2035, by scenario
Between 2005 and 2021, Canada's greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions fell by roughly ** percent. The North American country is aiming to reduce its GHG emissions by ** to ** percent below 2005 levels by 2030. This would see GHG emissions fall to at least *** million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (MtCOâ‚‚e). Under the "additional measures" scenario, Canada's GHG emissions would fall by roughly ** percent by 2030, relative to 2005 levels. This would leave a gap of some ** MtCOâ‚‚e to be on track with its pathway to net zero by 2050.
