In the 2022 Model Year, ** percent of all new vehicle models in the European Union were petrol and diesel vehicles. This share had shrunk from ** percent in 2019 down to ** percent in 2020, and is not forecast to increase further than its 2022 peak. In contrast, based on manufacturers' plans, the share of new battery-electric vehicle models has been growing with each new Model Year, and should make up over half the new models on the market from 2023 onwards.
