Between 2021 and 2022, people in North Africa identified the lack of childcare as the most prevalent challenge when asked about the most difficult obstacle for women to enter the workforce. For instance, ** percent of respondents in Egypt deemed the lack of childcare the leading barrier. Other significant factors preventing women from entering the labor force in the region were the low wages and the fact that men were given priority.
