The ESG investment survey was distributed by SynTao Green Finance and China SIF to both Chinese and offshore asset owners in September 2022. The survey garnered 51 valid responses, with 30 coming from Chinese institutions and 21 from offshore institutions. The percentages of these responses were 58.8% and 41.2%, respectively. Of the offshore respondents, 17 invested less than 20% of their assets under management (AUM) in China, while 4 invested between 20% and 39%.

Most valued social issues in investments in China 2022
According to the survey, almost ** percent of asset managers in China stated that information security was the most pressing social issue in investments. Concerning environmental issues, most respondents expressed concerns over climate change. In addition to that, around a third of respondents stated they would continue to include ESG factors in the investment decision-making process even if the investment is not making a profit.
