* 80 respondents were interviewed from each country and region which included Austria, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Nordics (Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland), Portugal, Spain, as well as 200 respondents each from the Netherlands and the rest of Europe (Poland, Romania, Belgium, Czechia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Slovakia, Ireland, Croatia).

As of May 2023, the share of accommodation businesses in Europe that had a strong increase in their occupancy rate over the last six months varied by number of beds. Accommodation businesses with at least 250 beds accounted for an occupancy rate of 73 percent.
