The most recent favorability polling of Donald Trump shows that his favorability with all Americans continues to remain above that of DeSantis in November 2023. While some polls have had DeSantis polling higher than the former president with all Americans, DeSantis’ favorability with Republican voters was yet to overtake that of Donald Trump.

The 2022 midterm elections saw what some in the media described as a nationwide rebuke of Trump and “Trumpism.” Donald Trump had endorsed a slew of candidates up and down the ballot – many of whom were vocal in the belief that the 2020 presidential election had been stolen. Forecasts made in the week leading up to election day identified 227 seats as being within reach of Republicans, with nine further toss-up seats. Republicans were only able to secure 222 seats.
