In a survey conducted in Japan between March and April 2022, Generation Z respondents were more likely to support gender blindness than Generation Y respondents. Almost ** percent of high school students were in favor of gender blindness, compared to only **** percent of ** to 49-year-olds. Gender blindness, also referred to as gender free in Japanese, describes the practice of ignoring differences between genders.
