According to a survey of full-time employees in the United States, emails were considered an appropriate contact channel for outside work hours communications by 70 percent of respondents. Online messages were deemed acceptable by around 54 percent of the surveyed respondents, while phone calls were seen as appropriate for outside work hours communications by 47.5 percent of respondents.
