According to a survey conducted in selected Middle Eastern countries in February to March 2022, 19 percent of all Muslim respondents stated that they plan to take out a credit or bank loan to cover costs during Ramadan in 2022. The share of Muslim respondents that they plan to take out a credit or bank loan to cover costs during Ramadan was the highest in the UAE at 27 percent.
