In the second quarter of 2022, oil production of five of the six oil supermajors declined in comparison to the first quarter of that year. These developments took place against the backdrop of the Russia-Ukraine war, which spurred increases in oil and gas prices across the globe, and in turn led to record profits for oil producers. ExxonMobil was the only oil supermajor in increase production in the period indicated.
