In 2022, more people shopping for back-to-college supplies in the United States were looking for ways to save money on said expenses than in previous years. Nearly 40 percent of U.S. college supply shoppers were planning to shop for sales more often and intended to do more comparative shopping online. From 2019 to 2021, the percentage of consumers taking these money-saving approaches floated around the 30 percent mark.
