In 2021, the Chinese Center for Drug Evaluation of the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) approved more than 10,000 drug evaluation applications. Almost a quarter of all approvals were given directly without technical reviews. More than approvals were granted to Investigational New Drug (IND) applications, while *** New Drug Applications (NDA) and more than 1,000 Abbreviated New Drug Applications (ANDA) were approved during the year.
