According to an online study conducted in the United States in 2022, Twitter was the preferred social media platform used by journalists for their work . Overall, 69 percent of U.S. journalists stated Twitter was the most used, or the second most used, social media site that they used for their job. Additionally, 52 percent of respondents reported using Facebook for this purpose, whilst around two in ten said Instagram was the most or second most used platform.
