TSMC's energy consumption increases

TSMC is the world’s largest contract semiconductor manufacturer, producing advanced chips for global technology firms across applications such as smartphones, high-performance computing, and artificial intelligence. Its business is highly energy-intensive, as chip fabrication requires continuous operation of complex cleanroom facilities, extreme ultraviolet lithography systems, and precise temperature and humidity controls. Energy consumption has been rising due to both increasing global demand for semiconductors and the growing complexity of advanced process nodes, which require more processing steps and more power per wafer.
