In 2025, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) gained over *** trillion New Taiwan dollars of net revenue. As a global semiconductor market leader, TSMC has been a crucial supplier to many huge consumer electronics corporations like Apple. 

 Leading wafer foundry

Despite being a relatively unheard of brand, TSMC plays a critical role in the global technology scene by being the leading wafer foundry in the world. Wafers are a thin piece of semiconductor which are often used in fabricating integrated circuits and are very commonly found in all kinds of electronics, especially consumer electronics like smartphones and Internet-of-Things gadgets. In the fourth quarter of 2025, TSMC held over half of the revenue share in semiconductor foundries worldwide, which was over ** percent more than Samsung, the Korean counterpart. In 2025, TSMC had shipped over ** million twelve-inch equivalent wafers in exports, with another *** million for local use.

 Business operation 

 With the United States being a global technology hub, its demand for sophisticated electronic parts such as wafers is also very high. Therefore, it is not surprising to observe that around ** percent of the net profit of TSMC came from United States, followed by China at around ** percent. In terms of consumer electronics types, smartphones composed almost half of the net profit of TSMC, while high performance computing electronics, such as laptops and tablets, constituted around ** percent of the profits.
