Global hydrogen production forecast 2050, by type and institution
Some of the largest energy institutions see green hydrogen production far outpacing blue hydrogen production by 2050. For example, the IEA expects 322.6 million metric tons of green hydrogen being produced compared with 203.8 million metric tons of blue hydrogen. By comparison, BloombergNEF expects only electrolysis-based hydrogen to be of substance in the future.
