A survey conducted in 2021 among U.S. adults diagnosed with a mood disorder showed which non-psychiatric treatments were considered helpful and what share of respondents were interested in such treatments. Around 80 percent of those with a mood disorder found psychotherapy to be helpful and 58 percent of those who had not tried it were interested in this treatment. This graph shows the percentage of U.S. adults with a mood disorder diagnosis who considered non-psychiatric treatments helpful, if they had tried them, or were interested, if they had not, as of 2021.
