According to a global survey conducted in December 2021, over one fifth of respondents said that they did not care if they were being stalked online by a current or a former partner, as long as they were not being stalked in person. Overall, ** percent of respondents aged 18 to 39 years, said that cyber stalking is acceptable if it is for their current or former partner's physical or mental wellbeing, whilst ** percent of those aged 40 years and over agreed with this statement. Additionally, ** percent of those aged 40 years and over thought that online stalking of a current or former partner was harmless. In general, adults under the age of ** had fewer reservations surrounding the topic of online stalking.
