According to a global survey of internet users conducted between January and February 2022, 78 percent of respondents agreed that women should not have to put up with online abuse. Overall, 35 percent of surveyed users agreed that the best way for women to deal with online abuse is to just ignore it. Approximately a third of respondents stated that many women overreact to the things people send them or say to them online.
