In France, abstention is far from being a marginal phenomenon. During the first round of the presidential elections, on Sunday, April 10, 2022, the abstention rate, if it was taken into account, would have been the first political party in France. Indeed, around ** percent of voters did not go to vote. While young people are the ones who abstain the most, the generational factor is not the only one that helps to explain this phenomenon. Indeed, it seems that it is in the most precarious households that people vote the least.
