A study estimated that the prevalence rate of depressive disorders among Chinese men surpassed per 100,000 population. This figure increased by more than ** percent in the past two decades. Compare to males, females are generally more vulnerable to depression. Major depressive disorder does increase the risk of suicide. With the significant number of patients, the condition poses a great challenge to the Chinese society.
