The value staked in decentralized finance platform Compound was ** USD lower in March 2022 than in November 2021. Compound is a crypto lending platform, where users can earn interest on their cryptocurrency by lending it to the app. It is one of the DeFi services with the highest market cap worldwide in 2022. In December 2021, Coinbase announced that their customers would be able to use the Compound protocol to lend their Dai to borrowers within the Coinbase app. Compound would then programmatically pool money from lenders and collect interest on that money from borrowers. However, these plans were not available in the United States after the Securities and Exchange Commission blocked former plans from Coinbase on crypto lending activities.
