International purchases prevail in most Central American countries. In 2021, cross-border accounted for almost two-thirds of e-commerce in Panama, the Dominican Republic, and El Salvador. In contrast, most e-commerce in Costa Rica and Guatemala remains domestic, where it makes up ** percent and ** percent of the total, respectively.
