Regionally, East Asia had the largest area of planted forest by share of total forest size, with a figure of roughly ** percent in 2020. Ranking second was Europe, where the forested land area proportion amounted to some ** percent. The lowest share of planted forest was found in Western and Central Africa, with only one percent of its forested area composed of planted forests.
