As of February 2020, 69 percent of adults in the United Kingdom aged 35 to 54 years said that there should be more regulation of social media sites. Overall, 58 percent of those in the 55 years and over age group thought that instant messenger services required more regulation, whilst 30 percent of respondents in the 16 to 34 year age category stated that subscription video on demand services should have more regulations in place.
