The survey included a total of 27,607 respondents, of which:
- 11,148 Tunisians non migrants;
- 6,475 returnees;
- 7,003 migrants;
- 2,981 foreigners residing in Tunisia (immigrants)
According to a survey conducted between 2020 and 2021, over ** percent of Tunisians did not intend to emigrate because they only felt comfortable in Tunisia. Other main reasons to stay in the country were the fact that a spouse preferred to live in Tunisia, as well as having a satisfactory job and salary. Taking care of the parents was another factor leading Tunisians to remain in their country.
