At mid-year 2020, Dominican Republic's total international migrant stock amounted to nearly 603,800 people. Neighboring Haiti was the main country of origin of immigrants, with almost 500,000 residents originating from that country. Venezuela came in second, as about 34,000 Venezuelans had immigrated to the Dominican Republic.
