According to a survey of internet users in Germany, during the third quarter of 2020 chat apps were the leading apps by reach, with almost 90 percent of the country's digital population using mobile apps like WhatsApp and Messenger. Social networking apps were also popular among the country's internet users, with a reach of approximately 84 percent. Map apps, as well as entertainment and video apps, were used by 66 percent of the country's digital population, respectively.
