An October 2021 study estimated the sector-wide job losses in the out-of-home leisure economy (OoHLE) in the United Kingdom due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Overall, the OoHLE suffered *** thousand lost employment opportunities as a result of the pandemic. From within the OoHLe, *** thousand jobs were lost in the night time economy (NTE) alone.
