Looking at the cumulative value of sustainable bonds issued between 2014 and 2020, Europe has issued by far the most of any region, totaling almost *** billion U.S. dollars. This is well over double the issuance from North America over this period, and nearly twice the issuance from the Asia Pacific region. Not surprisingly, European countries are strongly represented in the list of countries who issued the highest value of sustainable bonds in 2020. However, both China and the United Sates also figure highly on this list, placed second and third respectively.
