Domestic travel excludes business trips and refers to the estimated number of travelers who will stay overnight at lodging facilities. Outbound travel includes travelers on business trips.

According to a survey conducted in June 2025 in Japan, an estimated million people traveled during the summer vacation period in Japan between July 15 and August 31 in that year. This was an increase compared to the previous year.
