Among those Spanish respondents, who believed that the law against gender based violence in 2020 was not enough to fight the problem, approximately ** percent claimed that sentences and laws should become more stringent. Around ** percent asserted that more protection should be given to women. According to the Spanish Ministry of Equality, of the ** women killed due to gender violence in Spain the previous year, ** percent had reported the aggressor, down from ** percent in 2018.
