Spain has come a long way in the battle to gain equal rights for men and women in the latest years. The Mediterranean country is, in fact, one of the top European countries when it comes to gender equality, ahead of other developed countries on the continent such as Germany or Austria. Latest reports unveil that the gender gap is slowly but surely closing, with data showing great progress in the Gender Gap Index, an indicator designed by the World Economic Forum to measure the global degree of gender parity and in which Spain holds leading positions across practically all assessment areas.
