Article 27 of Organic Law 1/2004, of December 28, on Comprehensive Protection Measures against Gender Violence, developed by Royal Decree 1452/2005, guarantees victims of gender violence the receipt of social assistance when they are at a certain income level and it is presumed that, due to their age, lack of general or specialized training, and social circumstances, the victim will have special difficulties obtaining employment.

In Spain, the number of women who have received assistance under Article 27 of Organic Law 1/2004 on Comprehensive Protection Measures against Gender Violence has consistently increased over the past two decades, exceeding 1,000 beneficiaries between 2019 and 2022. However, in 2023, the number of women who benefited from this assistance decreased by ** percent compared to 2022.
