The figures are based on the most recently published sustainability or corporate governance reports of the respective companies.

A company's GHG emissions are classified into three scopes:
Scope 1 is any direct emissions from the firm itself within their control. This includes emissions associated with fuels, heating sources, and company-owned vehicles.
Scope 2 is any indirect emissions resulting from the generation of purchased energy (e.g., electricity).
Scope 3 is all indirect emissions (not included in scope 2) that occur somewhere in the firm's value chain. This is typically the largest section for emissions and can be the most difficult to quantify.
