While the Minister of Higher Education has decided to install menstrual protection dispensers in universities for the start of the academic year 2021, menstruation has recently been highlighted in the media and politics. It is in this context that the source wanted to know more about the uses of menstruating people in terms of sanitary protection. Yet, it appears that, although new types of menstrual protection have appeared in recent years, such as the menstrual cup, period panties, or washable protection, they are still used relatively rarely, while their disposable equivalents (sanitary towels, panty liners, and tampons) remain at the top of the list of protection used by the French menstruating population.
