In 2021, more than half (***percent) of young French people between the ages of 18 and 24 were supportive of the general principle of public funding of religious services, compared to about * (***percent) of those over the age of 65. Support for this principle was substantially higher among residents of the Alsace-Moselle region, where the concordat regime, in force between 1802 and 1905 in France, is still in effect.
