Hunting does not appear to be a particularly popular activity in France. Indeed, on average, over 90 percent of the population declares never having gone hunting, with four percent of French women and 14 percent of French men saying they go hunting at least rarely.
Hunting (and in particular) is the subject of criticism from associations and individuals concerned with ethical behavior towards animals.
