In January 2021, the Dutch government introduced a night time curfew (between 2100 and 0430) due to rising Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the previous weeks. The curfew was opposed by significant sections of society, and led to some of the worst riots seen in the Netherlands for a generation. Opposition to the curfew was heavily linked to political beliefs, with ** percent of people who supported the populist Forum for Democracy (FvD) party opposing the measures.
