Supplementary notes
The source adds the following information: "sample of 1,000 people, representative of French parents with at least one child aged 8 to 17 years old, living in at home."
When the parents of French children between the ages of * and ** were asked if they had watched online videos on platforms such as YouTube alone or with the help of someone else when they did it for the first time, the majority of the parents (** percent) of children aged 8 to 9 reported that their children had done it with the help of an adult. Thus, the youngest are more supervised by adults for their first time watching online videos. When children themselves were asked the same question, the majority of children aged 10 to 17 reported having done it with the help of an adult.
