The COVID-19 pandemic profoundly affected everyday lives of people all over the world. As Christmas 2020 was approaching, Italians tried to figure out how to spend this special holiday in such unusual circumstances. Curfews and regional lockdowns imposed by the national government severely limited the citizens' mobility, and so Italians seemed to adjust their Christmas shopping behavior to this new situation. In fact, only about a quarter of respondents to this survey reported having planned to buy gifts exclusively or mostly in physical shops. Another ** percent would shop both online and offline, while an additionally ** percent declared to be planning to buy presents exclusively or mostly online.
