The survey was conducted with a representative sample of urban and rural population in 137 localities and 50 subjects of Russia.
The statistical error in the sample of 1,600 people (with a probability of 0.95) does not exceed:
3.4 percent for indicators close to 50 percent;
2.9 percent for indicators close to 25 percent to 75 percent;
2 percent for indicators close to 10 percent to 90 percent;
1.5 percent for indicators close to 5 percent to 95 percent.
Due to the low statistical content of some of the groups described, these descriptions and conclusions should be considered primarily as an indication of trends in ongoing changes in smoking practices among Russian population.
