Tobacco remains one of the world's most widely grown non-food crops, with global production exceeding six million metric tons. Despite tightening health regulations and shifting consumer preferences, the crop continues to play a critical economic role in dozens of countries, particularly across Asia, South America, and Sub-Saharan Africa. China alone accounts for roughly a third of worldwide output, followed by India, Brazil, and Indonesia.
