The United States has pledged close to *** billion U.S. dollars to helping the energy industry recover from the coronavirus pandemic, more than any other country. As of June 2022, some * billion U.S. dollars is conditional aid directed at clean energy sources such as solar PV and wind. By comparison, the fossil fuel industry received nearly ** billion U.S. dollars in unconditional aid. Most public money for the global energy industry is directed towards fossil fuel-affiliated industries.
