The study analyzed 3,000 public social media posts that were randomly selected from 1,387,163 posts on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and on public channels on Telegram published from January 1 to July 31, 2020 which contained references to books, book genres, or major book events and had at least one interaction ((like, share, comment, retweet, etc.) or at least 10 views, The posts were by users who indicated Ukraine as their country of residence or did not indicate that but wrote the post in Ukrainian. The coding process identified 2,212 relevant references to reading.

Over ** percent of book-related social media posts on Facebook that were written by Ukrainians in the first seven months of 2020 were published as a feedback from readers. On YouTube, more than ** percent of videos featured quotations from books.
